I have a 2002 Buick Century. Last night I ran out of gas, after getting gas the car will not start? ?

Tried for 2 hours, had to get battery jumped several times from trying so much. Does anyone have an idea what it could be and how to fix it? Money is of course very short this time of year. Please help.I have a 2002 Buick Century. Last night I ran out of gas, after getting gas the car will not start? ?More than likely something in your fuel system is clogged (filters, injectors, etc.). Anytime you run a vehicle out of fuel is a bad thing as there is often rust particles, sludge, water, etc. in the bottom of the tank that gets sucked into your system. You can try filling to half tank or better in an attempt to get fuel past if there's not much in there now, but more than likely you're going to end up having to pull filters, pump, and injectors to clean all of them.

Also, cranking the engine over and over with no result is pointless, you're just causing damage at that point and have shortened the life of the battery (lead acid car batteries have plates in them, when you continuously charge and discharge the battery as you've been doing it causes the plates to warp and deteriorate more quickly).I have a 2002 Buick Century. If you have a car with fuel injection, you should never allow it to run out of gas. Ruins it.I have a 2002 Buick Century. Last night I ran out of gas, after getting gas the car will not start? ?i always tell everyone . it costs the same to run on 1/2 tank as empty...you still use same amount daily

that said sometimes the injectors get air-bound

2 did you put enough gas in it? 1 or 2 gallons is often not enough
maybe there is a hole in the line connecting the gas tank to the engine so its not geting enough gas to start either that or some one messed up your wiringI have a 2002 Buick Century. Last night I ran out of gas, after getting gas the car will not start? ?check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the engine first if no pressure it could have taken out the fuel pump by dry running.the impeller on the fuel pump in the tank is plastic and can get hot when run dry.. good luck, markI have a 2002 Buick Century. The Buick has an electric fuel pump, turn the key on for a few minutes and then crank it over. Just takes a little time to get fuel back in the lines.
You need new injectors and a filter.I have a 2002 Buick Century. Last night I ran out of gas, after getting gas the car will not start? ?
Fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel they pump believe it or not, when your low an gas an your running on fumes your fuel pump is pumping air not liquid. So it probably overheated
Open your gas cap and have someone turn the ignition to the on position and listen for a 2 second buzz from the gas tank and if you don't hear it then the fuel pump is cooked..
the same thing happened to my mom when she ran out of gas on her 2001 chevy cavalier. i did some testing and found out that the fuel pump burned out because she ran it dry. so i had to replace the fuel pump.

an easy way that i did to find out was, i took out the fuel filter, which is outside underneath the car, poured all the gas out of it, installed it back in, tried to start the car again, checked the fuel filter again, it was dry. which means that no fuel was going to it, which means the fuel pump was not working. since all my fuses and relays tested good, i figured it was the pump.
That's the problem of running out of gas. They're hard to get started again. I put my hand over the throttle body opening on a Ford focus that wouldn't start(it started). Gas is really hard to get up to the injectors(after you run out of gas). Another thing I would do if I were you is to replace the fuel filter. Then when all this is ready, spray some starter fluid in the throttle body opening and get it going little by little. Good luck.
