Is the bigger battery new? you could have possibly two bad batteries. Lastly you may have a bad alternator or selonid in the alternator.

If its a 3.3L, there a 2 big things to check. First fuel pressure. Key on engine off spec if 40 -47 Psi. Second, the IAC could be a concern. Had one happen to me, held the gas to the floor just to bring the engine to any RPM.

I have a 1970 buick skylark custom conv thats a frame offf restore easily a show car if the body work is done right, its frame off restore with the body still off chassis is 100% done just body owrk and paint is all it needs, it beautifull rebuilt 350 with auto tranny, it is a conv which is rare, frame is alll black except block which is yellow and some yellow on valve covers it beautifull, new tires rims everything how much ya htink its worht? TOOLS REQUIRED

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers



REMOVAL PROCEDURE





For a 3.8L engine, remove the fuel injector sight shield. Drain the coolant.

Use J 38185 in order to position aside the heater hose inlet and outlet clamp at the heater core.

Disconnect the inlet and outlet heater hose from the heater core.

Remove the vacuum tank.

Remove the floor carpet.

Remove the rear floor air outlet duct from the holes in the floor reinforcement.

Disconnect the rear floor air outlet duct from the heater core outlet cover.

Remove the bolts from the vacuum harness bracket and position bracket aside.

Remove the screws from the heater core outlet cover. IMPORTANT: Position the heater core outlet cover downward and rearward in order to disconnect the cover from the rear area floor duct assembly.

Remove the heater core outlet cover.

Remove the screws from the heater core cover.

Remove the heater core cover.

Remove and discard the seals (1,2) from the heater core cover.

Remove the caulk (3) from the heater core cover.

Remove and discard the outer seal (5) from the heater core.

Remove the screw (1) from the heater core support bracket.

Remove the heater core support bracket.

Remove the screw (2) from the heater core pipe retainer clamp.



Remove the heater core from the HVAC lower case.

Remove the heater core pipe retainer clamp from the heater core pipes.





Remove and discard the lower seal (4) from the HVAC case.



Remove and discard the center seal (3) from the HVAC case.



Remove and discard the upper seal (2) from the HVAC lower case.



Remove and discard the side seals (1) from the HVAC lower case.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





Install the side seals (1) to the HVAC lower case.

Install the upper seal (2) to the HVAC lower case.



Install the center seal (3) to the HVAC case.



Install the lower seal (4) to the HVAC case.



Install the heater core pipe retainer clamp to the heater core pipes.

Install the heater core to the HVAC lower case.



Install the screw (2) to the heater core retainer clamp. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in) .

Install the screw (1) to the heater core support bracket. Tighten Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in) .

Install outer seal (5) to the heater core.



Install new seals number (1) and (2) to the heater core cover.

Install the caulk (3) on to the heater core cover.



Install the heater core cover.

Install the heater core cover screws. Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in) .



Install the heater core outlet cover.

Install the screws to the heater core outlet cover. Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in) .

Install the HVAC vacuum harness bracket.

Install the screws to the HVAC vacuum harness bracket. Tighten Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in) .

Connect the rear floor air outlet duct to the heater core outlet cover.

Install the rear floor air outlet duct to the holes in the floor reinforcement.

Install the floor carpet.

Install the vacuum tank.





Connect the inlet and outlet heater hose to the heater core. IMPORTANT: Reposition the heater core hose clamps in the indicated location.

Use J 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose inlet and outlet clamp to the heater core.

For a 3.8L engine, install the fuel injector sight shield.

Fill the coolant.



2008 ALLDATA LLC.How many labor hours listed to replace heater core on 03 Buick Century V6 and is it a knuckle scraping job.?Myself I think that make of car is not too bad to do but I bet the book states at least 6 to 9 hrs . Personally I think most heater cores are a pain to replace but for me I've found a do it yourself auto wreckers helps me alot bec it offeres the chance to actually learn just how a certain dash etc comes a part hands on.

On my car for example its a Intrepid , I had to take a part 3 different Intrepids dashs just to even find one really good heater core. But to be safe I had it pressured tested and tested over night to make sure it was in fact a good heater core for 15.00.It turned out it was the best used heatcore the wreckers I took the heat core to have tested that they had ever seen.

I knew the job wou;d be a real pain bec of the experience taking a few out so I looked around and waited till I found a cheap garage father son that did it for me as I was on vacation and the weather was getting coller and I had no time to do it myself.

They said they'd never do one again unless paid triple lol was in fact I was right to let someonelse to the job lol

Only problem was I knew they'd crack something or forget to connect something or mess something up. In fact they did all 3 boo boo's lol but the book states 9 hrs for that job, that's at least 1,000 all in all at alot of shops and at least 600.00 min, and I got it done for 200.00 and in fact most shops wouldn't even dare to attempt the job.

If you have been taking your car to Firestone for oil changes, I feel sorry for you. Most places that change oil use the cheapest bulk oil available to make more money. What I suspect has happened is that the oil that was used in your engine was so low quality (like QS oil) that sludge has formed and baked into your piston rings, valve lifters, and valve seals. The cure is to have the engine completely motor flushed with butyl cellosolve, which dissolves all these unwanted deposits, and returns the engine to good working order. Then, install Mobil One. Have this changed after 3 months, and then wait a year to change it again. You can test the engine for presence of sludge by removing your oil filler cap and flipping it over. If it is coated with a dark waxy or black flaky deposit that you can scrape with your fingernail, the whole inside of your engine will look EXACTLY like this. Imagine this junk living on your piston rings and inside your lifters!!! A good engine flush should dispose of these deposits. E-mail me back for the best procedure! Good Luck! P.S. They broke a while back and I have been manually pushing them up/down. Now one of them has gotten stuck down, and I can't figure out how to get it back up.How would I fix my rear windows on a 1998 Buick Century?Well, if they are electrically powered windows, which I assume they would be you'd need to take the inside door panels off. Then after you take the inside door panels off you need to test the electric window motors. Make sure all of the wiring connections to the motors and window switches are making good contact and try powering the window up and down to see if they are bad. If they are, go online and see about purchasing new electric window motors. Ebay usually sells them for pretty cheap. Try finding a cheap OEM unit if you can, they should work better. Before attempting to replace the window motors its a good idea to have a friend handy. If you don't have a friend handy, at least get some soft rubber ended wood clamps to hold the window up in the position you need.



Most electric windows have a spring to help lift the window up. And there are also usually some rivets or bolts or pins you have to remove to remove the old window motor. The rivots can be hard to remove. But if you have a high speed Dremel tool it is much easier. The small gringing wheel allows you to get inside the door and pop the rivot out easier. Some people drill through the rivots. I found that is really difficult especially since the rivots are usually hardened and if the drill bit catches wrong you are bound for some pain.



You'll probably need a cheap hand rivot gun to install the new motors. And you may need a friend to compress the spring to place the rivots back on. Then it is a matter of lining everything back up in the door. Making sure the new motor works (probably a good idea to do BEFORE you install it). And then making adjustments to ensure the window goes all the way up. The latter stages where you are putting it back together is where a friend really comes in handy. Then put your interior door panel back on and you're all ready to go.

A clogged radiator or engine is a possibility especially if you have been using some kind of stop leak. You could have a pressure test on the radiator done. This would clarify if there is a blockage or maybe even break it up though not likely to clear it. Not a bad car may be worth fixing. I don't buy from dealers. Anytime you run a vehicle out of fuel is a bad thing as there is often rust particles, sludge, water, etc. in the bottom of the tank that gets sucked into your system. You can try filling to half tank or better in an attempt to get fuel past if there's not much in there now, but more than likely you're going to end up having to pull filters, pump, and injectors to clean all of them.



Also, cranking the engine over and over with no result is pointless, you're just causing damage at that point and have shortened the life of the battery (lead acid car batteries have plates in them, when you continuously charge and discharge the battery as you've been doing it causes the plates to warp and deteriorate more quickly).I have a 2002 Buick Century. Fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel they pump believe it or not, when your low an gas an your running on fumes your fuel pump is pumping air not liquid. So it probably overheated
Open your gas cap and have someone turn the ignition to the on position and listen for a 2 second buzz from the gas tank and if you don't hear it then the fuel pump is cooked..
the same thing happened to my mom when she ran out of gas on her 2001 chevy cavalier. i did some testing and found out that the fuel pump burned out because she ran it dry. so i had to replace the fuel pump.

an easy way that i did to find out was, i took out the fuel filter, which is outside underneath the car, poured all the gas out of it, installed it back in, tried to start the car again, checked the fuel filter again, it was dry. which means that no fuel was going to it, which means the fuel pump was not working. since all my fuses and relays tested good, i figured it was the pump.
That's the problem of running out of gas. They're hard to get started again. I put my hand over the throttle body opening on a Ford focus that wouldn't start(it started). Gas is really hard to get up to the injectors(after you run out of gas). Another thing I would do if I were you is to replace the fuel filter. Then when all this is ready,spray some starter fluid in the throttle body opening and get it going little by little. Good luck.

I wasted a lot of time on my first job troubleshooting because the fuse LOOKED good.My dashboard and tail lights are out on my 96 buick regal?the park lamps and the dash lamps are on the same fuse. Pull the fuse out and check it for continuity with a digital volt ohm meter. Also, check for voltage on the power feed wire to the fuse. If the fuse is good, I think what you'll find is that the wire is broken on the under side of the fuse block from corrosion. I have a 95 regal and I have had to repair several wires under the fuse block that have been corroded. I also repaired another regal with the same corrosion problems. I tried to find a replacement fuse block at the junk yard and almost every fuse block I looked at had corrosion on the wires where they connect to the fuse block.

I have a 1993 Buck LeSabre and the Door won't lock. I can lock the door on the inside and/or shut the door and use the key to lock the door, and it won't lock. Every now and then I might get lucky, but for the most part, I'm having complications.

Plus, Buick really is not a large auto group; it is mostly sold at dealers that sell GMC's and Pontiac's.



Saab on the other hand should really be sold. It seems as if GM has just put them aside and waited for them to rot. The 9-3 is good, but it is slow, unreliable, and somewhat expensive. The 9-5 is ugly, expenisve, does not use top-notch materials, and has an I-4 Engine in the class of V6's, and some V8's. It is okay to use the components of one car to make another if it is a good car to start, but when you take a subpar Chevrolet Trailblazer and put a Saab Logo on it and slap an extra $15,000 to the price tag, it will be bad. That is sadly what GM did to the 9-7x.



In other words, Saab is a helpless case, but Buick is doing pretty good. Their Three Models all share components with other cars and do not need a separate factory. plus, they are booming in Asia. ALL TRANSMITTERS MUST BE PRESENT WHEN PROGRAMMING NEW REMOTES!



1. Turn OFF ignition switch.



2. Use a 3 amp fused jumper wire (two clip leads attached to either side of a 3 amp fuse and paperclips work, too) and

connect terminals at the data link connector (black wire to

black/white wire). Pin number 4 and 8. The data link

connector is located on the driver's side bottom of dash

panel.

3. Close all the doors.

4. Turn ON the ignition switch.

5. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm it is in

programming mode.

6. Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK on one of the

transmitters for 30 seconds.



7. After a 10-15 second delay the doors will LOCK and

UNLOCK.



DO NOT TURN OFF THE IGNITION!



8. Repeat step 5 for each additional transmitter. (Even

I have a 1990 Buick Century that is in excellent condition. Due to a very stupid error on my part, I haven't changed the serpentine belt for some time. The belt snapped this afternoon and I replaced it, which I have done before as routine maintenance. Now, the car turns over, but refuses to start. I have checked to make certain the compressor, alternator and other significant parts are working correctly and everything appears to be functioning. Check your plugs, is there fuel on them? Check your spark at the plugs! Does the engine sound funny when you try to start it? If the timing belt broke, the engine will spin over MUCH faster than normal and will sound like there is no resistance to it 鈥hich there is not anymore if the belt broke.

I know that the belt that you replaced is not related to the timing belt, but it could be that when the drive belt broke it also broke the timing belt, or caused the chain to jump a tooth on the gear. If the timing if off to much it will not start!

Replace the water pump. Replace the thermostat and of course add new coolant. I would be tempted to not flush the system but after the work they are preforming it is probably a good idea so that no debris is left in system. Pricing is about correct these days, now you know why I do so much of my own repairs.

Look under the hood for rubber or plastic hoses that connect to the manifold. There will usually be a large number of them connected together like branches of a tree.



The vehicle operates on vacuum provided by the engine, produced when the cylinders move. The climate control vent system is entirely controlled by vacuum.



The engine controls are also controlled by vacuum, and if one of the larger hoses is loose/cracked etc, your engine may run rough, or not at all.



Start the engine, and listen very carefully for a hissing sound, and track it down. Door: replace the inside handle and rod, could also be clip that holds rod on latch assembly. Remove door panel and look at the rod, is it connected at the latch? Can someone help with a 93 Buick Regal Tail light problem?

I have a 93 Buick Regal and the Tail lights will not work, the turn signals work fine, even the stop light on the trunk lid. I have changed the bulbs and still nothing. My turn lever on the steering is alittle wore out, to get the turns to work, I pull it down and pull in just alittle, then they work. Could this have anything to do with the tail lights not working, or is it a short somewhere?Can someone help with a 93 Buick Regal Tail light problem?Tail lights are on a different circuit than brake and turn signals.

i check see if you have a bad fuse. then if not. then its a short in the wires.Can someone help with a 93 Buick Regal Tail light problem?There is a short or a ground issue. Get a Chilton's Manuel from your local auto parts and pull the schematic. There you will find where the lights are grounded. Sometimes moisture will corrode the connection and effect the tail lights. Also there is a brake light switch that is between the brake pedal and the colum. There may be a short there also.

We went to best buy and they wanted to charge us full price for install which was 55 dollars!!! This indicator stays on forever. There was a reset button for it in the fuse box, but it did not do anything.

Speed sensors are on each wheel of this model and are also used for antilock brakes. The sensor is mounted in the wheel hub/bearing assembly. It calculates it by counting numbers of wheel rotation. A low tire turns at a different speed(more revolutions) than the others.

The system on that car does not measure tire pressure at all. It measures the number of times the wheels rotate using the ABS/Wheel Speed sensors, not a pressure sensor inside the tire and wheel assembly. If one or more tires is over or under-inflated, if you have one or more tires on the car that are the wrong size or if you have tires of mis-matched brands or dramatically different amounts of wear that can set off the system.



Check all your tire pressures when the tires are cold - preferably in the morning and before you do any driving. Make sure the pressures are set to exact what it says on the Vehicle Information Tag inside the drivers door frame (30 psi front and rear), then check to make sure all the tires are the correct size (P205/70R15 95S) and have similar amounts of wear.
