How do you replace a coil pack on a 1989 Buick LeSabre?

My coil pack has wore out in my 1989 Buick LeSabre. I am wondering if anybody knows how to replace one. I would appreiciate it.How do you replace a coil pack on a 1989 Buick LeSabre? It is located on the passenger side of the engine right in front. To replace it, you need to remove the 7mm bolt from the connector at the front then remove the bolts that hold down the 3 coils for the six plugs.

To install, just reverse the processHow do you replace a coil pack on a 1989 Buick LeSabre?Very easy, trace your spark plug wires, they will lead you to the distributor. On top of that, in the middle of all the spark plug wires is your coil pack. There is probably a couple screws holding it in place. This ignition system is called HEI, or High Energy ignition. There will be a couple of wires out of it as well, obviously disconnect them and reconnect the new ones.

Best of luck.

PS, Disconnect the positive battery terminal first, and try not to touch the connections while grounded, as there is a potential for 30000+ Volts right there. How do you replace a coil pack on a 1989 Buick LeSabre?if its got a 3.8 then its the same as my olds.ok take it off,and now you got screws on top, take them out and they seperate.ok you got wires, put them on the proper terminals and ben them over.now put the 2 back togeather and put the screws back in,and install it on the car.but before you do anything, unhook the battery, and after you get it back togeather, allow yourself about 5 minutes befor you hook up the battery.
