I have a 91 buick regal and when i try to start it, it clicks and the lights dim in the car?

I have a brand new alternator, and a brand new battery and got the electric work done. Why is my car still not starting? If i get a jump it runs but not for long, and the lights dim. Does anyone know what i should do, or have any suggestions?I have a 91 buick regal and when i try to start it, it clicks and the lights dim in the car?sounds like dirty or corroded connections either at the battery, alternator, or starter. Not sure what "electric work" was done, but if the battery and alternator are new and functioning properly, then you have bad connections somewhere. disconnect and clean all the connections with a small wire brush then re-connect them. If you have a starter solenoid that isn't attached to the starter, check that too. Remember to check your primary ground connections (negative wire on the battery) as well.
