Check fluid level in transmission.Ok I have a 1985 Buick Lesabre I drove it one and went back again it wounldnt back up?transmisson is slipping.. need new trany.. or tranny shifter linkage is loose..
Don't face backwards but face forwards and then when it is in reverse it will go backwards and not forwards......Ok I have a 1985 Buick Lesabre I drove it one and went back again it wounldnt back up?You probably should take it to transmission specialist.Ok I have a 1985 Buick Lesabre I drove it one and went back again it wounldnt back up?
Sounds like it could be the CV Joint. I had the same problem with an 87 Dodge Omni--wouldn't go in reverse. Google "CV Joint" and see if it tells of the same symptoms you had. Good Luck with it.
low at fluid. check level ts lowOk I have a 1985 Buick Lesabre I drove it one and went back again it wounldnt back up?
if it was low on fluid it won't go forward either. Have someone help you and see if the gear linkage is moving the link on the transmissionl,
First thing to do is check your transmission fluid level. This is a dipstick similar to your oil dipstick .When you remove the dipstick it should have a [cold and hot] carved into it and if after cleaning it and reinserting it nothing is on it then you should add some tranny fluid.A very long small nosed funnel is needed to do this and try to add the the fluid at 1/2 quart/litre at a time. The only thing worse than a tranny low on fluid is one with too much fluid.
This is all I have to offer you for advice and I do hope it can be of some help to you.
