I just bought one, and am curious as to what I may need to watch out for. Thanks! What are the most common problems associated with Buick Lucernes?they have either the legendary 3800 v-6, arguably the best car v-6 engine ever built, or the even better 4.6L Northstar v-8. in 09, they introduced a 3.9L v-6, which I don't know anything about.
they also have fairly beefy transmissions (4T65E or 4T80E), so basically other than sharing a name with Safeway grocery store's dairy food line, I wouldn't expect any issues with it.
also, if you have the 3.8L, you can brag to your buddies with their lame *** Prius' (I maintain that these cars are only "green" if used exclusively in the city, but folks out here in the middle of nowhere buy them.
as we know, there is alot of energy lost to heat making electricity, and then more energy is lost to heat running it through an electric motor, so the hybrid is not a smart idea for primarily highway driving. I wont knock its design in the city, with its regenerative braking, but maintain they aren't highway vehicles, anyways, back to the point! :D )
that your care is SULEV compliant. (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) for more info, Wikipedia it. (for that matter, look at the Lucerne if it is there) basically, it means that it sends out extremely low levels of emissions.
good luck with the well built american car!
