How do you lock a power window in the closed position on a Buick Century?

The rear power window of my father's 2000 Century is broke. It slides down and won't go up with power. You can slide it up with your hands but it eventaully falls back down. The car is not driven much and he doesn't want to spend the money to repair it. Is there any way to go into the door interior and wedge or lock the window permanently closed? How do you lock a power window in the closed position on a Buick Century?take the door panel off and find a block of wood that you can wedge it under the glass and to the bottom of the inside of the door. How do you lock a power window in the closed position on a Buick Century?A replacement power window motor %26amp; regulator combo unit is only about $30-$50 on eBay if he ever wants to fix the window.

How do you lock a power window in the closed position on a Buick Century?I suppose the easiest solution is to fill the window channel(s) (where the window seats in a normally closed position) with clear silicone and then push the window up and closed and hold it for a minute or two. Once the silicone dries it will form a permanent water proof barrier and the window will stay up indefinitely.

To get the window back down in the future it would be similar to removing a windshield and the silicone would have to be sliced away from the glass and most likely the rubber seal or channel replaced which is not that difficult to do.

Good Luck!
