What do i have to do to keep the ac compresser from engageing.I beleive this is whats causing the noise under my hood.Sounds like a bearing went out.Disconnecting the ac compressor on 1995 Buick Lesabre Limted Edition?Sounds like the compressor clutch went out.Disconnecting the ac compressor on 1995 Buick Lesabre Limted Edition?you could pull the fuse (if applicable) to keep it from engaging but if you're hearing a bearing noise, it's in the pulley not the compressor. So you would be looking at replacing the bearing (or entire pulley and clutch or even the entire compressor)
or if you're feeling really ambitious and dont want AC ever again, you can remove the AC compressor and install a bypass pulley made by motormite which is sold at most auto parts stores under the "help" or "needa" lines. But it is alot cheaper than replacing AC parts. Of course you'll have to remove some other pieces and properly dispose of freon.Disconnecting the ac compressor on 1995 Buick Lesabre Limted Edition?Remove the serpentine belt then take a piece of clothes line rope and route it around your pulleys following the diagram for your car but skipping the a/c compressor. Then cut it where the ends meet. Next measure the length. Take this measurement to a REAL auto parts store (not Auto Zone or like that) and they can match it to a belt of that length. Be sure you know how many ribs you have on your original belt so that you can get the proper width for a replacement.
