My ignition of my car locked up the day before yesterday. Some told me I could spray some WD-40 down there but I'm scared it will break it. Is there anything I can do besides paying someone to repair the tumbler? How to repair a locked ignition of a 2001 Buick Regal?DON'T USE WD-40, I WOULD TRY USING THE OTHER KEY FIRST AND SEE IF THAT WILL WORK.How to repair a locked ignition of a 2001 Buick Regal?Rub pencil lead on your key and insert it into the keyhole several times....pencil lead is graphite and will lubricate the tumblers without attracting dirt like oil will. WD-40 does work ok too in small amounts. How to repair a locked ignition of a 2001 Buick Regal? If you parked your car such that the steering wheel is ****** left or right and under tension, you need to pull the wheel to release the tension before you turn the key. If you don't have that problem, you have an "immobilizer" problem where the ignition isn't recognizing your key. Try another spare key to see if it works. Otherwise, you may have to call your GM dealer.
