Is purple a color that came in the 1997 Buick Century?

Someone is trying to sell me a 1997 Buick Century but I think it has been painted. I dont think they came in purple in 1997? Thanks. Under the hood, jams, trunks, pillars etc. are all great places to look to see if a car has been painted. Also, any used car dealer should have a gizmo (for lack of a better word) that they use to determine if a car has been repainted (and in an accident).
