On my 2000 Buick Le Sabre the motor works but the window is not going up or down? How do they connect?

It is hard to see where the motor connects to the window to make it go up or down. Is there a cable or other mechanism that makes it work. If the cable is off track or broke you will hear it "Pop" alot of the time while operating the window. It is also possible that the window has come loose from the regulator. There is a worm gear in the motor that connects to the gear box. Then the gearbox is connected to a pulley that connects to push ,pull cable. More than likely you snapped the cable . Salvage yard will do and you willsave money
