Will buying a smaller steering wheel for my 1965 buick riviera affect the handling too much?
I have a 1965 Buick Riviera and I want to buy an after market steering wheel, because mine is absolutely ridiculous for me to try and drive with. How horrible will it be if I buy a smaller steering wheel? Will buying a smaller steering wheel for my 1965 buick riviera affect the handling too much?kinda like an old wagon wheel ? gotta love the 60s I have put small steering wheels on many cars, it does not affect much of anything, You can go down to 13 inches or so without any problem the power steering makes things work just fine, and truthfully, unless you are in a tight parking lot you may never miss the old wagon wheel, keep it somewhere safe, so if you ever sell the car, you can give them the option, of the original wheel. It usually takes about an hour to switch over, and most of that is just figuring out the horn button. if you are using a grant wheel, be sure and get the kit that goes with the wheel this makes it much easier. but other than that, have fun enjoy your classic !!!
