1988 buick lasabre rattling sound near engine when starting and when braking?

My mom is asking this question, any help would be lovely.1988 buick lasabre rattling sound near engine when starting and when braking? Her starter might be loose. and the reason she does not her it till then is cuz the engine is louder than the rattle. Or it could be a loose any thing. It sounds like it is time to crawl under your moms car using the proper safety equipment and start tighing up nuts and bolt. Use a toque wrench so that they will not be over tightened. Toque specks can be found in a Haynes manual. All part stores should have them.1988 buick lasabre rattling sound near engine when starting and when braking?I cannot make a specific guess with that information it would seem that a problem with the exhaust maybe contacting the frame perhaps would rattle while starting while braking however i would have a hard time buying the same story so unless it is two different sounds more information will be required1988 buick lasabre rattling sound near engine when starting and when braking?not really enough info.......broken up catalytic converter, bad a/c compressor.......need more input
