Can a motor from a 96 buick fit inside a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix?

i know the motors are both 3800s. will i need to get a new wiring harness or will the wiring harness from the Grand Prix plug into the buick motor with no problems. and what parts would have to be changed to make it fit right?Can a motor from a 96 buick fit inside a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix?The answer is a comparison check list, look at them side by side and visually pick out the items you will have to change. The base 3800 block should be identical, it is only the accessories, brackets, and (maybe) some small piece of wiring. I am just finishing a swap on my Buick, it is a 1999 3100 m-code and i am putting a 2001 j-code 3100 in its place. The only difference was the injector wiring so i just swapped the injector system from the m-code and they popped right in (no re-wiring).
